The Enlightenment was a philosophical movement of the 18Th century characterized by belief in the power of human reason and questioning authority. Many enlightenment philosophers like John Locke, Voltaire, and Rousseau published their ideas on government.

They influenced many people to believe that the church shouldnt be the only ones to rule that country. Some also believed that not one person can rule or control a country.

I think that John Locke was a great philosopher. Alot of his ideas are what we use today, like freedom of speech and oother great ideas that we use today. Also Rousseau had alot of ideas that we use today.
